BJ has worked for 49ͼ¿â as the Communities In Schools Site Coordinator at HEMS since the start of the 2019 school year. His wife is a Cabell County Educator and they have 5 children. BJ is a pastor at a local church and has a Doctorate in Theology.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Student Mentoring
• Attendance and Behavior monitoring
• Providing basic needs for students and families such as
  • Food and Clothing Pantry
  • Assistance with food and utilities for families
• Developing community partnerships and fundraising
• Conducting home visits
• Case management of students for attendance, behavior, and class work needs
